Jacksonville is not safe, check the surrounding suburbs like Green Cove Springs, or Orange Park.
I would recommend on-base housing if you can get it. That’s the safest for your family. When I was there I lived in a burb called Arlington. It was expensive and the neighborhood was already in decline. Unless you get on -base housing I’d get ready for a long commute to NAS, Jax or Mayport.
Check out Windy Hills. Lots of houses for sale starting @ 80. Although most are two bedroom, some have been added to. I`ve lived here for 10 yrs with no problems. I know of a 3 bdr on Dobbel that could probably be purchased fairly reasonable. Email me if you wish.
